Newark man charged with felony DWI

A 42-year-old Newark man is facing drunk driving charges.

Macedon Police say they were called to Monroe-Wayne County Line Road and 31F for the report of a suspicious vehicle.

Investigators say the driver, Jeffrey Williams, pulled over to use his cellphone and while still in the road, came to a complete stop to talk. Police say Williams was drunk.

He is charged with felony DWI, felony aggravated unlicensed operation, operating a motor vehicle without an interlock device, failure to submit to a breath pre-screen and open container. Police say the felony charge stems from two prior convictions in Monroe County in 2006 and 2011.

Williams was arraigned and remanded to the Wayne County Jail without bail.

Christopher’s Challenge will be hosting its 12th annual Hike for Life on Sunday, April 28th at Eastview Mall. The hike was started in memory of two brave men who lost their battles with cancer: Gene Martello, from Seneca Falls, and Tony Canali, from Canandaigua. Both men were dedicated supporters of Christopher’s Challenge and believed in the mission of getting more people typed to become potential bone marrow donors.

Three people arrested for burglary in Village of Sodus

Sheriff's deputies have arrested three people after investigators say they broke into an apartment and stabbed a man who was visiting the Village of Sodus residence on Thursday.

Police say 21-year-old Dashawn Faniel, 40-year-old Gregory Faniel and 38-year-old Angela Scott, 38 broke into an apartment on West Main Street in the Village of Sodus and stabbed Anthony Banks. Investigators say Faniel and Banks had a prior altercation that led up to the assault.

All three suspects are charged with burglary and assault and remain in the Wayne County Jail in lieu of bail.

Banks was treated for multiple, non-life threatening stab wounds.

Deputies: Marion man threatened to punch his wife in the face

Sheriff’s Deputies in Wayne County have charged a 23-year-old man for threatening to punch his wife in the face.

John Flynn of Marion is charged with criminal contempt and harassment. Deputies say the threat made by Flynn violated an order of protection.

Flynn was arraigned and remanded to the jail in lieu of bail.
 

Victor man charged with DWI in Wayne County

A 21-year-old Victor man is facing drunk driving charges in Wayne County.

Deputies say they received calls for an erratic driver in the Town of Ontario around 9:30 p.m. Tuesday. According to investigators, the driver – identified as Jeremy Brown, was driving drunk.

Brown was issued tickets and will appear in court at a later date.

Deputies: Newark man choked girlfriend during dispute

A 38-year-old Newark man is facing charges after a domestic dispute with his girlfriend.
 
Jason Cromer is charged with criminal obstruction of breathing. Deputies say Cromer choked his girlfriend during an argument.

Cromer was arraigned and remanded to the Wayne County Jail in lieu of bail. He is due back in court at a later date.

Meet Brooke!

Brooke is a sweet little four-year-old female terrier mix who was found as a stray and brought to Lollypop Farm. Brooke has the cutest scruffy cream colored coat and a friendly doggy smile. She can be a bit shy at first, but if you take your time with her she warms up quickly. Brooke gets very wiggly when you come to see her and enjoys playing outside in the courtyard. Lollypop Farm recommends that Brooke go to a home with kids age 14 or older and she must meet any dogs already living in the home. Brooke and her new owner will need to take training classes to help her manners and to give her confidence a boost. Her adopter will receive a discount on their first 6 week training session together. Come meet Brooke and give this lovable gal a fresh start!
