Newark man charged with felony DWI
A 42-year-old Newark man is facing drunk driving charges.
Macedon Police say they were called to Monroe-Wayne County Line Road and 31F for the report of a suspicious vehicle.
Investigators say the driver, Jeffrey Williams, pulled over to use his cellphone and while still in the road, came to a complete stop to talk. Police say Williams was drunk.
He is charged with felony DWI, felony aggravated unlicensed operation, operating a motor vehicle without an interlock device, failure to submit to a breath pre-screen and open container. Police say the felony charge stems from two prior convictions in Monroe County in 2006 and 2011.
Williams was arraigned and remanded to the Wayne County Jail without bail.
