Eye center holds ribbon cutting | Business
Wayne Regional Eye Center has opened a new, greatly expanded optical dispensary. Located in the Medical Office Building at Newark-Wayne Community Hospital, 1210 Driving Park Ave. in Newark, NY, the new optical dispensary is a further expansion of the vision care services provided by the practice owner, Mary Sue Napoleon, MD.
Dr. Napoleon is the only full time ophthalmologist practicing in Wayne County. She has been practicing in Newark for over 30 years. Dr. Napoleon serves on the Board of Directors of the Newark-Wayne Community Hospital, as well as the Board of Rochester General Health System. She is currently the Chairman of the Board Quality Committee at Newark-Wayne Community Hospital.
Complementing the medical team is Dr. John S Ray, a full time optometrist at the practice. Dr. Ray is experienced in low vision and vision rehabilitation of survivors of stroke and brain injury, and has extensive training in contact lenses. Brian Napoleon, MSHA, the brother of Dr Mary Sue Napoleon, serves as the practice administrator.
The new optical dispensary features complete designer frame collections from well known names such as Gucci, Kate Spade, Liz Claiborne, Hugo Boss, Chesterfield, Carerra, Ted Baker, Marc Ecko, Takumi and many more.
Frames that feature the newest technology like “Easy Twist”, “Cool Clip”, titanium and light weight metals are of special interest. Lens technology is pure high-tech, with the newest free form and digital progressive lenses available. The grand opening event in May featured a special lens offer for free anti-reflective or Transitions (lenses that lighten indoors and darken outdoors).
“We will continue to deliver our state-of-the-art medical service to our patients,” Dr. Napoleon said. “In addition, we are offering the most comprehensive eyewear options in frames, lenses and contact lenses in Wayne County. We’re proud to be on the cutting edge of vision services for Newark and the surrounding communities.”
