Mother and daughter charged in Hopewell with promoting prison contraband | Crime
Deputies say an investigation led to charges for a mother from Canandaigua, and her daughter, who is from Newark and in jail for an unrelated charge.
Ontario County Sheriff’s deputies said that in March 2012, Leighanne Attridge-Kuchinik, 22 of Newark, and her mother, Joanne Attridge, 57 of Canandaigua, were arraigned on two counts of first-degree promoting prison contraband.
An investigation revealed that on November 13 and 20, 2011, per Attridge-Kuchinik’s request, Attridge allegedly passed a controlled substance in the form of suboxone strips to Attridge-Kuchinik during a jail visit.
Both mother and daughter pleaded guilty to the charges and are to reappear in Ontario County Court later for sentencing.
