Deputies: Mother smoked marijuana while driving with 11-month-old child in car

Ontario County Sheriff’s Deputies say a woman was driving high on drugs with her 11-month-old child in the car.

Sheriff’s Deputies arrested 23-year-old Katherine Madden of Lyons on Sunday after she was pulled over on Sutton Road in the town of Seneca.

News10NBC is told Madden and 29-year-old David Bender, who was also in the car, admitted to smoking marijuana while the baby was also inside the car.

They say Madden failed a series of sobriety tests, and a drug recognition expert determined she was impaired by drugs at the time.

Madden was charged with DWAI Drugs, DWI LeAndra’s Law, endangering the welfare of a child and unlawful possession of marijuana.

Bender was charged with endangering the welfare of a child and unlawful possession of marijuana.

Madden and Bender will answer to the charges at a later date.

Sodus man allegedly had sexual relationship with child

A Sodus man is in custody after he allegedly had sex with a child, Wayne County Sheriff's deputies said. This story comes to us from our news partners at the Messenger Post Newspapers. 

Gerald M. Craig, 21, of Sodus, is charged with six counts of second-degree rape, eight counts of endangering the welfare of a child, one count of third-degree sex abuse and one count of second-degree criminal sex act.

Sheriff's deputies say Craig was having a sexual relationship with a 14-year-old victim. The relationship is alleged to have occurred in the town of Sodus. Craig was arrested at a residence in the town of Wolcott.

Craig was arraigned in Sodus Town Court and sent to the Wayne County Jail on $10,000 cash or $20,000 bail bond. He is scheduled to reappear in court at a later date.

Wayne County man arrested in cocaine investigation

A Wayne County man is behind bars after investigators say they discovered cocaine in the suspect's home.

Newark Police say the narcotics were discovered after police executed a search warrant at the Elm Street home of 48-year-old Larry Dennis. Police say Dennis is charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance.

Police say Dennis is currently being held at the Wayne County Jail. News10NBC has learned the arrest is part of an ongoing investigation of cocaine distribution in the Village of Newark.

Williamson man charged with rape, child endangerment

A 19-year-old Wayne County man has been arrested for three counts of rape and three counts of endangering the welfare of a child.

Sheriff’s deputies say Dustin LaPage had sexual contact with a 14-year-old victim in the towns of Williamson and Sodus.

LaPage was arraigned on the charges and is currently being held in the Wayne County Jail in lieu of $10,000 cash bail.

Ontario man charged with DWI

A 41-year-old Wayne County man is facing charges after a police investigation.

State Police say troopers were called to investigate a suspicious vehicle on Whitney Road in the Town of Ontario on Thursday. A subsequent investigation led to the arrest of Sergey Maystruk for DWI with a BAC of .23-percent and drinking alcohol in a motor vehicle.

Maystruk was issued appearance tickets and is due in court at a later date.

Fairport man facing drug charges in Wayne County

A Fairport man is facing drug charges in Wayne County.

Joseph W. Dardzinski, 40, of Fairport, is charged with unlawful possession of marijuana and window tint violation.

State Police stopped Dardzinski on Gates Street in the village of Palmyra on February 17. Dardzinski was issued an appearance ticket to appear in the Village of Palmyra Court on April 1.

Sodus man charged with stealing alcohol

A Sodus man is facing charges for stealing alcohol from  a business in the village.

Adolph M. Asch, 67, of Sodus, is charged with petit larceny.

Police were called to Paton's Market Place in the Village of Sodus for a report of a larceny of a bottle of alcohol. Police had learned that Asch was observed stealing a bottle of Peach Alcohol valued at $2.49. A store employee had questioned Asch outside the store where he admitted to stealing the alcohol, but then left.

Sheriff's deputies located Asch at his home. He was arrested and issued an appearance ticket to answer to the charges at a later date.
