Wayne County Nursing Home providing telehealth services for its residents
News, People, Technology
The Wayne County Nursing Home and Rehab Center is now providing telehealth services for its residents.

Physicians in Rochester and New York City assess residents at the nursing home who are their patients via videoconferencing equipment.

It's a new service provided by the Wayne County Nursing Home, which is already noting the benefits of having their nurse be able to communicate directly with physicians rather than rely on written reports and the feedback from the aides charged with taking residents to their appointments.

Additional advantages for residents of the nursing home are not having to travel and having access to specialty services that might otherwise not be available to them locally.

The nursing home was able to purchase the necessary equipment earlier in the year with a grant from the Bullis Fund of the Rochester Area Community Foundation.
