Two retired, Rochester-area teachers killed in Tennessee crash | News

An elderly couple, who used to teach in the Rochester area, was killed in a crash in Knoxville, Tennessee. The Knoxville News Sentinel reports the crash happened Sunday on Interstate 40.

Esther and Richard Congdon, both 79, died as a results of their injuries.

Police say Esther Congdon was driving eastbound when the car began to swerve erratically and then slammed into a concrete median.

Esther Congdon previously taught at Ontario Elementary School in Wayne County while Richard Congdon taught in the Webster Central School District.
