Wayne County Sheriff's deputies recovered the body of a missing fisherman in Sodus Bay.
Police say the victim, Alan Shultz, was positively identified by family members at the scene after being found along the south shore of Sodus Bay in the area of Sill Road.
Shultz went missing on October 31, 2011 from a capsized boat in the area of Thornton Point.
According to police, 66-year-old Alan Shultz was in a 16-foot boat that capsized in Sodus Bay on Monday. His fishing partner, 48-year-old David Schueler was found by a passing boat. He was recovering from hypothermia.
Police started a months-long search and initially declared that the search would become a recovery mission.
Officials used side-scan sonar, flat sonar and underwater camera systems to search the bottom of the bay for Shultz's body. Sheriff's scuba divers assisted the boatcrews by identifying reflections found by the technology.
Police say neither man was wearing a life jacket when the boat capsized.
