13 cited during opening weekend of gun season for deer hunting

Thirteen people were issued tickets during the opening weekend of gun season for deer hunting in Wyoming County.

Evan Countryman, 24 of Castile, Allen Hawks, 54 of Wyoming, Roger Fronczak, 46 of Silver Springs, and Richard Simpson, 47 of Perry, were issued a citation for failure to tag a deer.

Meggan Petti, 25 of Penfield, was cited for failing to carry proper tags. Scott Petti Jr., 29 of Penfield, was issued citations for illegal killing of an antlered deer and failure to tag a deer.

Daryl Mays, 36 of Batavia, was ticketed for the illegal taking of an antler-less deer and failure to tag a deer.

Rocky Gringer, also of Batavia, was cited for having a loaded firearm in a vehicle.
